Don’t sleep on those Thrift store journals—with a little creativity (and a printable or two), you can turn a plain, inexpensive notebook into a piece you actually love to use! One of my favorite tricks? Remove the original cover and replace it with a custom design using printables.
You can watch the replay below to see how I removed the cover to expose the really beautiful look of the binding and added printables to make the look of this sketch book feel more like me! Add pockets, tuck spots, or layered ephemera for extra charm. Suddenly, your once-boring notebook becomes a personalized junk journal, prayer tracker, gratitude log—or whatever your creative heart dreams up. And the best part? You did it with just a few supplies and a sprinkle of imagination.
A transformation is just one cover swap away!
Happy Crafting!

Helpful Hints
- Printing on 32lb bright white paper will work perfectly!
